I'd be very happy if you made a DBSK layout. I'd put it on my Xanga in a heartbeat...well, a lot of heartbeats, because I really like the CloudxTifa layout I have right now (www.xanga.com/WooyaPooya if you wanna visit xD). :D

No, there are no Japanese courses at my school otherwise I'd take one. :( Sometimes I wish I lived in California since basically every high school offers Japanese. T-T

hm.. does your school have japanese classes? books are helpful, but i think classes are more beneficial because you can talk to other people and practice with them.
i have a book on how to learn japanese, but i haven't cracked it open since i purchased it...oops.

I think understanding a language is good enough. I can understand Cantonese wayy better than I can speak it. Yeah, Chinese is tough that way because there are so many kinds of tones. Are you learning how to write it, too?

i'm sorta fluent in spanish. i can read, write and understand it but when it comes to speaking the language, i fail. as for japanese, i can speak it well but there's so much more i need to learn.
xD and i'm trying to learn mandarin. it's a bit frustrating because if you don't stress a certain word/syllable just right, you'll be saying something else.

OMG i spot ai otsuka in your 'music' list. i've read translations of her songs and gah, they are so poetic and cute. i just might make a layout inspired by them.
