Oh man, that's such a tough decision for me, ahah. I was thinking maybe english.. But that might change. :) What about you?

I haven't talked to you in a few days.

To continue with our college discussion, what do you want to major in?

NYC's full of weird people.

Posted by tokyo-rose on May 5, 08 10:13 pm

Ahaha yeah he seems like he is. :P

Haha, the Naked Cowboy's weird. He's sort of touchy and..perverted. XD

Ooh. You and your perks~ :P

Have you seen the Naked Cowboy at Times Square?

Posted by tokyo-rose on May 3, 08 11:18 am

Yay! Mets > Yankees. xD

Posted by tokyo-rose on May 3, 08 11:16 am

Haha I love The Mets. XD

& yeah, actually we usually get really great seats from one of our family friends who's one of the editors for sports illustrated. We got to sit in the box seats once :D

My uncle who works there knows all the shortcuts and even lets us through places that we're not really supposed to go, like the sort of "backstage" of MSG. It's useful when you want to get out of there without pushing through a croud. :P

Posted by CrotchetTheLeper on May 2, 08 9:11 pm

Oh, nice. I've never been to MSG, haha. I want to go there to see a concert someday. I'm not big on sports, so I don't think I'd go there for that.

The Mets! I like them better than the Yankees, but I'm not a huge fan since I don't follow baseball.

What kind of privileges? Better seats?

Normally when I'm in Manhatta, I hang out at one of my family members apartments. Whenever we actually go downtown, though, (which is rare because my parents lived here their who lives and they're sick of it) we go to Madison Square Garden for a Ranger game or something. :P

My uncle works there, so sometimes we get special privlidges, haha. When I'm not in Manhattan, I'm over in the Bronx in the Throgs Neck area where the rest of my family is. We also go to Mets games at Shea a lot. :P

What do you like to do when you're here?

Posted by tokyo-rose on May 1, 08 7:12 pm

Yeah, part of my family lives in the Bronx, and the other part lives in Manhattan. Hahah and yeah that does sound like something I should read :P

Posted by CrotchetTheLeper on Apr 30, 08 8:21 pm

Do you sleep over with family members when you visit?

I like going to the Barnes & Nobles in Manhattan. They seem so much better than ones in other boroughs. Or maybe I just like B&N in general. *Bookworm*

I just borrowed this book called A Mango-Shaped Space that's about a girl who doesn't know she has synesthesia but is diagnosed with it later on (or so I assume; the blurb doesn't say). ^_^ Maybe you should read it too, haha.

Posted by tokyo-rose on Apr 30, 08 6:20 pm

Yeah, I'm in the city all the time. :) I just spent the whole day there on saterday, haha. I love it there so much.

& yeah, synesthesia is really really awesome. I don't have it really strong, like the poeple I read about on wikipedia, but I definitley have my senses "cross" from time to time. I never really knew it was uncommon until I read about that, hahaha. Like, I told my mom about it too and she was like ummm that's not normal... :P

Do you come to the city often?

:O I guess you have me to thank for you discovering your condition, then, huh? Haha. :P I actually learned about it as a literary element first, then learned about the disease, and it's been one of my favorite things ever since. One of my good friends has grapheme-color synesthesia and she told me it's a way of thinking, not really a "disease."

Other synesthetes associate things with having a certain taste. It's like a crossing or pairing of the senses, as I've read synesthesia being described.

Haha no, I don't live far upstate at all. Less than an hour away from the city. And yeah I had never even heard of The Strokes until I was in 8th grade when their 3rd album came out, haha.

Oh, and by the way, I looked up what Synesthesia was and I found out I have a mild case of it... I never knew why, but when I was in 5th grade this girl asked me to think of a color and I said "Eight"... and she was like, huh?! and I got all confused and I was like, but eight is green!
... hahahaha

And I also alway associate 5 with red, and red withthe letter F... I dont know why... Oh well, at least now I know I'm not the only one who does that. XD

Posted by CrotchetTheLeper on Apr 27, 08 3:15 pm

Ohh. From the sound of it, I thought you'd gotten into them way before that. xD

Do you live in upstate NY, then?

That's cool. I want to attend college either here or at Boston U. I love the city too much. ^^; I kind of wanted to see if I could get into Columbia...but my average isn't high enough. Haha.

It was a pretty long time ago; spring/summer of 2006 maybe? And I live about 50 min. away from NYC. My parents grew up in the Bronx/upper Manhattan, and most of my family still lives there. I'm probably going to college there. :D
